The same thing happens at breakfast. Some days, my kids like eggs. Other days, notsomuch. Some days, yogurt is good. Others, no way. But I know that cereal is one choice they'll never turn down. Cereal and granola bars are my go-to food choices for breakfast because I know my kids will eat it. Every time. The younger kids like their cereal in these little plastic bowls with straws attached to them. They can drink the milk when they've finished the cereal that way.
My personal go-to food for breakfast is coffee. Actually, it's more like cream and sugar with a little coffee flavoring, but it still works. What's your one go-to breakfast item that you and/or your kids can't live without. For a chance at a $100 Visa gift card, leave me a comment here and let me know what breakfast item you can't live without. Is it a special coffee mug? Fruit? A certain cereal?

Peanut butter. Whether it's in my oatmeal, on my toast, or just on a spoon (OK, covered in chocolate chips) I can't seem to start my day without it!
ReplyDeleteCereal. My kids love cereal...for any meal. If there is no cereal in the pantry, it is a sad day in our house. My kids are good eaters, but they beg for cereal! Frosted mini-wheats are a favorite...they like to eat them dry for a snack, with milk for meals!
ReplyDeleteBlogged about cereal, just because of you. Thanks for the entries :)
ReplyDeleteCnt live without Cofee and my two toast with the Strawberry Jelly... Just perfect!!!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely cereal! Cheerios for me and the kids love the new Reduced Sugar Frosted Flakes!
ReplyDeleteFor me, it's coffee. But for my kids it's cereal bars. They are the best quick breakfast food I've found.
ReplyDeleteFor me, I don't really eat breakfast. I just don't care to wake up early enough to eat it. So, I just reach up in the cupboard, grab a NutriGrain bar and run out the door!
ReplyDelete-Amanda Ro.
For my oldest (11 yr old boy): cereal, cereal and more cereal. He will eat 4-5 bowls every morning.
ReplyDeleteMy youngest (8 yr old boy): Eggo Waffles.
Me: granola bars, yogurt with grape nuts, coffee
My go-to can't live without breakfast item is a Banana-Nut Vitatop Muffin! YUM!
ReplyDeleteMy girls have to have nutella on toast or oatmeal with brown sugar. I can make either one and they will eat them no complaints!!
ReplyDeletelinda_bauman@msn.com
oatmeal! we love it. it's quick, easy, cheap, & healthy!
ReplyDeletePop-tarts. Chocolate ones. Does this make me a bad mom?
ReplyDeleteMy kids could eat yogurt all day, every day.
ReplyDeleteMy healthy go to item is yogurt....my not so healthy always must have item is Diet Pepsi!
ReplyDeleteOK, if we can count coffee as breakfast food, I admit that it's the one thing I can't live without in the morning. I've got a wonderful set of overlarge mugs with dragons and cute sayings on them which I adore with my morning coffee, not because I drink so much but because I can fumble and klutz around in the early morning and still not manage to slosh it over the edges.

Toast is one of the things that I know that my kids will always eat no matter what. Sometimes with cinnamon and sugar and sometimes peanut butter...but it's always easy and something that they can make themselves. Easy breakfast is a must in my busy house.

Peanut butter - never fails in this house (unless it's my teenage son - then it is hot dogs)!
ReplyDeleteI have to have a cup of coffee in the morning, with some type of cereal bar/granola bar.
ReplyDeleteThat would have to be sausage, egg, and cheese and the microwave.

I think that would be fruit. I put blueberries in yogurt, bananas in cereal, and strawberries in waffles. Or just fruit by itself sometimes!

On weekdays, we "go to" cereal.
ReplyDeleteFun breakfasts for us are pancakes with chocolate chips and bacon!
Thanks!

Granola bars are GREAT for breakfast on the go and everyone loves them. Give them a single serve of OJ and a package of bars and you are good to go, even when running late!

I don't have just one thing. Our
ReplyDeleteBreakfast staples include a variety of cereals and fresh fruit. I make blueberry pancakes ahead of time and freeze them so they can be chosen for breakfast any morning
I'm a regular cereal gal. But I must have my coffee in my special FL starbucks cup.
ReplyDeleteMy mug of coffee (well mainly creamer & water w/ a tad bit of coffee). Gotta have that cup every morning.

Granola is our family staple. Sometimes we just pour some soymilk over it and have granola cereal. Or we mix it up in our yogurt with some fruit and make a yogurt parfait. It is also delicious on ice cream (but not for breakfast though!).
ReplyDeletecold cereal. Right now I'm really loving Nature's Path Flax plus Red Berry Crunch cereal.

Coffee is my start and sometimes my complete breakfast. Love a full breakfast for dinner though, since the kids are grown I get to do what I want and in doing so am a bad example to no one.
