GE Caulk Singles

You know those ads that run along the side of my blog Because I Said So? Truth be told, I don't generally pay too much attention to them. I hadn't really checked out the one for GE caulk until a friend brought it to my attention.

We have a leaky shower. It's been that way forever. It's been on my husband's "to do" list for like 40 years. I finally came to the realization that although I wanted the shower taken care of, this was not a high priority on my husband's list. I was so angry that he wasn't fixing it that I decided to just do it myself. I'm not a big DIY (do it yourselfer), but I was determined to show my husband that I could caulk the leaking shower myself. Brilliant plan, no?

So, I went to the store, bought a thing of caulk, got home, and realized I had no way to get the caulk out of the can. Apparently you need a caulk gun. Who knew? Bob the Builder I'm not. I mentioned to my husband that I'd bought some caulk and all he had to do was grab his caulk gun and seal the shower. That darn container of caulk sat there there for 10 years. Or something like that.

So, after my friend brought the GE caulk ad to my attention, I checked it out. Guess what - GE is giving away FREE samplesof their new caulk singles. These things look really cool! You don't need a caulk gun to dispense it. Simply tear open the package and squeeze it out. According to their ads, you should be able to effortlessly apply an even bead of caulk. I filled out the form to receive my free sample. I can't wait to get it. That's pretty cool, right? Easy peasy caulk singles that you can use to spruce up your home. But that's not all. Oh nooo. Tell us how you used your FREE caulk single to do a DIY job around your home and you'll be entered for a chance to win $1000 VISA GIFT CARD! Think of all the sprucing up you could do with $1000!

This is my shower, complete with mold damage now. Ugh. This is definitely my husband's job now. This is what happens when it isn't caulked well.

This is MY project. I'll be caulking my sink when I get my free sample.

Even I can caulk this with the new GE single. At least I think I can. I'm pretty sure I can. I'll keep you updated.

So, just click HERE to get your free GE caulk single sample.

All right - I'll bite. We currently have water leaking between our tub and our floor, so I'm getting desperate. But not so desperate that I am pointing it out to my husband again.

Hmmm. I wonder if I should tell you about my experience with caulking. Oh sure. What the heck.

Last week. Maybe it was two weeks ago ... we went to Home Depot to buy some caulking to secure the t-moulding on our hardwood floors. I had been up late the night before with the baby, up early with our toddlers, and I was kind of zonked. Not unlike the way I am everyday. The sales rep comes over and asks what I'm looking for ... and with my husband as my witness, I held out my hands like I had just caught a big fish and said "I need a big thing of brown caulk."

My husband choked, I gasped (when I realized what I had said) and the sales rep laughed and said "Do you now?"

So yeah. For the rest of my life, any time I try to pronounce that word, I'll overemphasize the "L".

I am going to use it on my bathroom sinks, I have ugly tile in there, but the caulk is gone, so I will be using my caulk right there, between the tile and the sink top. Or maybe around my sink or...well lol I have places.

I'll use the caulk to fix my past caulking mistakes. I have become the family 'caulker' due to my hubby's great delay skills. I had caulked around the water faucet in my tub...and apparently I did a shoddy job...I'm hoping this caulk will do the trick!

My handy (i use that word lightly) husband was being ignorant and was trying to jump over the side of the deck...and to make a long story short...he broke it and fell to the ground...this prompted him to build steps since there were no previously put there. it turned out to be one of the ugliest pair of steps i've ever seen.
so be careful what you wish for:) ha ha!

I am SO going for this. We have 1000 year old caulk on our kitchen sink that is very very yukky. Whenever I mention it to my dear darling hubby he says "all it needs is to be re-caulked."
Ok, DO IT already!!!
But, like you, I shall take the matter into my own hands.
Thanks for the info!!

I tried using a caulk gun once and managed to caulk everything around the bathroom sink, EXCEPT for the space that I was going for. I guess that's what I get for trying to surprise my husband with fixing up our bathroom while he was overseas. I'm going to try the single packets to caulk our daughter's bath tub this time. It has to be easier, right?

The caulk singles are a great idea but they are only enough for a small job like a sink. Caulk is also available in large squeeze tubes that will do a large job but doesn't require a caulking gun. I haven't used the caulk singles but I have used the larger squeeze tubes and those are really easy.

I am really interested to hear your review when you actually use them.

I had a difficult caulking job (for a woman). It is the floor caulk in a downstairs stall shower. I have tried numerous caulks. All mildewed over time. These caulk singles were easy to use, and so far have had great coverage and I liked the results. It was a little hard to wipe up however. Seemed kind of greasy for a while. But, overall I am happy.

Any of you have knowledge of have hallatosis breath because of old rotten teeth? I'm sure you do that's why don't want people seeing you in person. lol looking for date sites and money because you need dental work, it's an emergency!. anyway, i'm not selling anything or anything but i do want to encourage everyone to look up veneers. google it or find it somewher or ask your dentist. it is the freaking best thing the world.

all that tasty candy that those cum guzzlers at mars sold you tricked you and got you and your wife running around looking like the wicked witches and wizards of the west.

You go to the denstist and get a cleaning but what the hell is that going to do? You've got caved in teeth, appalachan mountain teeth, rocky mountain teeth, and general crackhead related teeth.

It's rough on you I know but it's true. I used to be the same way. I did happen to spend a couple g's on some veneers in atlanta ga (google it if you're not from the US). Now I do give a clean smile on every occasion i meet a face, in abstract to the past where it's hide the smile! But anyway some of you might definitely need to undergo such a process.

Another important factor is, it's a great way to continue the veneer industry and make sure we have motivated dentists to come up with new innovative ways to fix our teeth. veneers is a big step over gold and silver teeth replacements which are gaudy and look crazy.
