Can't Live Without It

This is sponsored content by BlogHer and Kelloggs.

There are some foods I make for dinner that I know my kids will always eat. Macaroni & cheese, hamburgers, spaghetti, tacos, and chicken & dumplings are staples in this house. Then there are those hit-or-miss meals... "But you guys ate the lasagna when I made it last month and you loved it!" "What? Since when do you hate green beans?" "What are you talking about? You like BBQ pork!" Of course, none of this applies to my 4-year-old Brooklyn who doesn't consume anything but peanut butter, mac & cheese, cereal, and chocolate milk. Oh yeah, and candy! Can't forgot that important food group. :::shaking head:::

The same thing happens at breakfast. Some days, my kids like eggs. Other days, notsomuch. Some days, yogurt is good. Others, no way. But I know that cereal is one choice they'll never turn down. Cereal and granola bars are my go-to food choices for breakfast because I know my kids will eat it. Every time. The younger kids like their cereal in these little plastic bowls with straws attached to them. They can drink the milk when they've finished the cereal that way.

My personal go-to food for breakfast is coffee. Actually, it's more like cream and sugar with a little coffee flavoring, but it still works. What's your one go-to breakfast item that you and/or your kids can't live without. For a chance at a $100 Visa gift card, leave me a comment here and let me know what breakfast item you can't live without. Is it a special coffee mug? Fruit? A certain cereal?

Peanut butter. Whether it's in my oatmeal, on my toast, or just on a spoon (OK, covered in chocolate chips) I can't seem to start my day without it!

Cereal. My kids love cereal...for any meal. If there is no cereal in the pantry, it is a sad day in our house. My kids are good eaters, but they beg for cereal! Frosted mini-wheats are a favorite...they like to eat them dry for a snack, with milk for meals!

Blogged about cereal, just because of you. Thanks for the entries :)

For me, it's coffee. But for my kids it's cereal bars. They are the best quick breakfast food I've found.

For me, I don't really eat breakfast. I just don't care to wake up early enough to eat it. So, I just reach up in the cupboard, grab a NutriGrain bar and run out the door!

For my oldest (11 yr old boy): cereal, cereal and more cereal. He will eat 4-5 bowls every morning.

My youngest (8 yr old boy): Eggo Waffles.

Me: granola bars, yogurt with grape nuts, coffee

OK, if we can count coffee as breakfast food, I admit that it's the one thing I can't live without in the morning. I've got a wonderful set of overlarge mugs with dragons and cute sayings on them which I adore with my morning coffee, not because I drink so much but because I can fumble and klutz around in the early morning and still not manage to slosh it over the edges.

Toast is one of the things that I know that my kids will always eat no matter what. Sometimes with cinnamon and sugar and sometimes peanut butter...but it's always easy and something that they can make themselves. Easy breakfast is a must in my busy house.

I have to have a cup of coffee in the morning, with some type of cereal bar/granola bar.

That would have to be sausage, egg, and cheese and the microwave.

Granola is our family staple. Sometimes we just pour some soymilk over it and have granola cereal. Or we mix it up in our yogurt with some fruit and make a yogurt parfait. It is also delicious on ice cream (but not for breakfast though!).
