Want a great snack idea? Clementines from Spain! They're small, portable, easy-to-peel (my kids can easily peel these without help), yummy, and good for you!
I love these Clementines because they're seedless, or very nearly seedless. And unlike some varieties of oranges, you can easily chew these. I hate oranges that are impossible to chew. I always end up spitting out globs of that membrane separating each segment. These Clementines from Spain aren't like that. They're de-lish!
Clementines from Spain are also a good source of antioxidants, vitamin C, folate, fiber and potassium. They're sweet and juicy, but only have about 50 calories each!
Not only do they make great after-school snacks, are perfect for lunchboxes and late night munchies when you crave something sweet, but you can use them to spice up your favorite recipes. In fact, here's a recipe for a cheesecake that is awesome!
Clementines from Spain Cheesecake with Gingersnap Crust
For the crust:
3 cups gingersnap crumbs
1/4 cup of golden brown sugar
2 teaspoons Clementines from Spain zest
6 tablespoons melted butter
For filling:
4- 8 oz. packages of cream cheese, room temperature
1 cup sour cream
1 1/2 cups sugar
3/4 cup Clementines from Spain juice
4 tablespoons Clementines from Spain zest
3 tablespoons flour
5 large eggs, room temperature
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
To prepare the crust:
In a large bowl, mix together gingersnap crumbs, brown sugar, Clementines from Spain zest and melted butter until mixture resembles wet sand. Transfer mixture to 9” spring form pan and press down so that the crumb mixture covers bottom evenly and comes up the sides of the pan an inch. Place in refrigerator until ready to fill.
To prepare the filling:
In a large bowl using electric mixer, blend cream cheese and sour cream until smooth. Gradually add sugar, Clementines from Spain juice, Clementines from Spain zest and flour, making sure to scrape down the sides of bowl. Mix thoroughly.
Add eggs one at a time, continuing to blend until mixture is smooth.
Remove crust from refrigerator and fill with cream cheese mixture.
Place in the center rack of oven and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until lightly golden and firm in the center.

Oh my girls just love these! They want them for snacks all the time!
We love 'em here! And I like the smaller size for the little kids, they actually finish what they start. :-)
I could eat 10 of those a day! We all love clementines at our house :)
We love clementines here too! Oddly enough we bought a 3 lb bag of california clementines last month, but they just aren't as sweet as the ones from Spain.
The first time I had a clementine was from someone on an airplane--his mom had sent them from the east coast since they hadn't made it out west yet. So good!
Sounds yummy!!
We have been enjoying these little babies here at our house as well. Although I am pretty sure ours are from California not Spain.
Oooh! Yummy! My girls LOVE these, and so do I!
Is it sad that of all your contests thus far, that I want to win this one most of all? We LOVE clementines here. We go through them like they're candy. Here's hoping to my comment being picked!

Clementines are something you eat? Boy, do I feel stupid! :)
if you love clementines from spain you should try them from FLORIDA!!!! They rock!! ;) ok maybe I am biased since I am from Florida and try really hard to only eat produce grown in the states. Gotta support our local farmers!! :-)
Oh yum! I love them too! And thanks for the recipe!
We love clementines here! Thanks for the chance to win some.
I've never tried clementines. I usually avoid oranges because I hate that membrane stuff I have to peel off. These sound great.
I want to try these. I see them in the grocery store but haven't ever been able to talk myself in to paying so much for fruit. They sound so good!
We looooove our darlin' Clementines!

Fruit does not last at my house. My kids LOVE it. In fact, we just finished a bag of these and only have 1 bag left. More would be a big hit here. Also the vitamin C helps keep them healthy. :) Gotta love that!

Me! Me! Pick me!! Of course with the new year we are working on eating healthy and trying new recipes. This is something I really need. Something good for us and a recipe for a wonderful treat for us! I'm with you - I hate the chewyness of the oranges sometimes. I don't buy them as often as I should for that very reason!

I love Clementines! But I'm too lazy to buy them.
I *LOVE* clementines. They're about the only orange I eat since I can peel them without cursing, injuring nearby co-workers, or leaving my hands covered in a sticky orange-film.
I love Clementines and with 6 grand children and a pregnant daughter in law, who loves them, every time I buy me some they come over and eat them. I promise if I win them I will share!!!
Yum! I LOVE clementines. They are SO much sweeter than oranges, easier to peel than tangerines, and mostly seedless. I just wish I could buy them other than in a 5 lb. box.
Clementines are one of the few fruits I can actually get my children to eat. That recipe looks way too yummy!
We love citrus, especially clementines. They're the perfect size for a toddler. Great giveaway!

I would love to win this one...good for my new years diet!
We love Clementines here! If I buy them (when I'm feeling particularly wealthy), the kids eat them in no time. Apparently everywhere, too, because I find tiny peels in the oddest places.
If your didn't pick it yet I hope you pick me. It would help me with my diet.
SWEET! Something my kids can eat all on their OWN!!! Now that's what I'm talkin' about! :)
My kid is an orange addict.
Yummy! That pie looks so good!
My daughter loves clementines. She's five years old and she amazed everyone at a recent family gathering. She asked her aunt if she could have one of the clementines that were sitting on the table. They didn't think she knew the name of them.
My daughter has been wanting to try these forever! My husband loves them!
