Strolling Down Linden Street

BlogHerAds and JCPenney gave a few bloggers a $500 gift card to use for items in their Linden Street line. I was one of those lucky bloggers. $500 to use on things for my bedroom? Woo Hoo! I haven't updated my room in, well ever. I immediately went online and checked out JCPenney’s Linden Street line and was thrilled to find a lot of cool items. I decided that I wanted a whole new furniture set along with bedding and window treatments. Then I got realistic and figured that $500 would probably only buy a sheet set and a comforter.

So I packed up all the kids and headed to JCPenney. Yes, you read that right. I packed up all the kids. You know, because I’m insane like that. I think I spent more time chasing the kids than looking at the Linden Street items. Thankfully you don't have to repeat my mistake. You can shop online for the Linden Street items!

The linens were really nice and I was impressed with the quality and the price. Linden Street is a fairly small line of products, in my opinion. There are only 4 different styles of comforters, for example. However all the items coordinate with each other. You can match blankets to sheets to comforters to rugs to pillows to curtains and blinds, furniture, lamps and bathroom towels.

With my $500 gift card, I purchased a bedding set including the comforter, dust ruffle, and 2 pillow shams, a 300 thread count sheet set, a blanket, a decorative pillow, a table lamp, 4 curtain panels, and a rug for my bathroom. And I fell in love with the Linden Street Cherry Road bedroom furniture and may have to go back and get it at some point in the future.

Watch my video to see the before and after difference in my bedroom!

Love the bedroom makeover! Doesn't it make such a difference when you like where you sleep?!? Congrats!

It's amazing what new bed-linen and curtains can do for a room. That set you picked was awesome and even coordinated with the paint on your walls so you didn't have to paint.

You may have your hands full, but you also have a lot of laughs everyday. I love the video showing the kids dancing, laughing, etc. :)

No matter where you blog it's funny. I want that stuff. My room needs new stuff. I too live in the garage sale era. I have two mismatched dressers too.

Great job, Dawn! I LOVE all of your new things. Makes me want to redo my bedroom, too! However, as you know, I have this condition - it's called procrastination - that's keeping me from doing it! haha

You have such an awesome sense of humor. I guess that's a necessity with 6 kids! I especially loved them dancing in the aisles! Thanks for another laugh!

Ah, that was a great video! Is your room so much darker in the a.m now with the drapes all the way down to the floor! I LOVE Me a dark room! Love the colors you chose!

I'm beginning to think that there was a larger purpose for you going to J.C. Penny than just to get new stuff for your bedroom.

I loved this video! I totally would have chosen that set as well- very pretty! Are you so paranoid now though that one of the kids is going to end up throwing up all over it? We got a "fancy" comforter set from JcPenney's a couple of years ago and I am so insanely worried about vomit on it. If when one the kids are sick and they come into our room I immediately take off the comforter -it's dry clean only! And yes, we have the mismatched garage sale furniture style going on in our bedroom as well! Someday we'll get a new matched set...but I am just thankful to have furniture at this point!

Okay, so I had to go to Penny's to check out the bedding for myself. I love love the "sweater" blanket. I had to feel it after i saw it on the video. I also found that bath mat and oooohh my goodness. I wanted to take my shoes off and rub my feet in it too. I did not however, I had tennis shoes and socks on. LOL too much trouble to take off. Is there going to be a contest for a bathmat or a "sweater" blanket?

Austin and Jackson totally crack me up. Definitely loved the "did you just walk into the display?" "maaaaybe" exchange!

You've got yourself some witty kids there, lady. I hope they don't drive their teachers nuts. =)

Hilarious! Can I just say that you kinda sound like Kirsty Alley when you talk? I think you are much cooler than she is as a person, but your voice bears a striking resemblance:) And if you don't take that as a compliment, then just scratch the comment, lol.

I'm so happy for you, those look great!I love how the sets match, you can get a few sets and mix and match. It's so refreshing to sleep on clean new beautiful matching stuff. Hope you don't end up with permanent marker decorations on your new sheets like I did last time I got new ones.
